Shah Rukh Khan is gung-ho about Hrithik Roshan's recent three-film contract with Adlabs. "I think it is a very good idea although I do not know the details since I have not spoken to Hrithik. Even Akshay has entered into a similar deal. Beyond the price factor, I think what's wonderful about the deal is that an actor has the freedom to choose the film he or she wants to do over a certain period of time. I think it is a great business decision by Hrithik," he says. …
Meanwhile, Don might have generated a mixed response, but Shah Rukh appears pretty complacent. "When we make a film, we want it to do well, of course. That is the sole reason to make a film. Our take on Don was very different and we knew that comparisons would be drawn with the older Don. But we worked on it so that it wouldn't be a carbon copy of the original," he says. This marks the first time that an action film of his has worked. "I believe an action film always appeals to the masses. Audiences have liked 'Khaike paan…' and 'Yeh mera dil'. I have never succeeded in an action film before. Main Hoon Na and Baazigar had action, but a different kind of action." Yet, the critics have not been kind to Don. "I have never given importance to reviews. I am not the type who will say, clichéd lines like 'I will learn from the reviews' or 'They help me learn'. I never take the compliments or bashing seriously, nor do I try to change my films based on it. I do what I want to do," he replies. Are special effects and technology taking over Bollywood films, considering the amount used in Don? "I think even Krrish and Jaan-E-Mann had tremendous effects. The special effects of Don have been done by my own company. I think if used in a proper way, SFX can make life easier and safer for actors," says SRK. ….read more
