‘Water’ misses out on Oscar

Deepa Mehta’s ‘Water‘ did not bag the Oscars at the 79th Academy Awards in Los Angeles. The Oscar for the Best Foreign Film was awarded to the movie from Germany ‘The Lives of Others’. Though “Water” is based on the widows of Benaras, the film was the official entry from Canada as Deepa Mehta is a Canadian resident.
The entire star cast of “Water” was present at the award ceremony excluding Lisa Ray.
Deepa Mehta’s next project is named “Exclusion’. Amitabh Bachchan has been signed on for this project. Others include John Abraham and Seema Biswas.
