SRK lashes out at Don critics

Lashing out at critics for panning Don, Shah Rukh Khan says,"Their criticism and appreciation can no longer be taken seriously… there are more of them with less knowledge." To prove his point, the actor is now making plans for a sequel.

The reaction varies from average to even excellent which is not bad. There are people who didn't like the film, but I have also heard of people dancing in the aisles, which is rare nowadays. Don is a good product. It has good stars, good director, good music and if not the greatest, some good special effects. And of course, like every film, it has its set of problems. Even I find the first half slow, but it's a thrilling experience on the whole. This whole comparison to the old Don is bullshit. It has to be seen as a film on its own.

The character of Vijay got less screen time than that in the older Don version. Why? I thought so too. And I did tell Farhan to increase Vijay's role by two scenes. But on hindsight, he was right in sacrificing Vijay's role for the sake of an interesting end. Besides, the title of the film is Don and not Vijay. …

The critics have ripped the film apart. Comment. There was a time we used to respect the critics, but nowadays there are more of them with less knowledge. Both their criticism and appreciation should not be taken seriously. You can take the recent examples of Fanaa and Krrish . Both films were panned. But look at the kind of business they have done. The problem with critics today is that they feel compelled and are in a race to rip a film apart. I go by the audience viewpoint. A lot of people, especially women, did not like me in KANK and I accept and take the blame fully for it because I did not act well in the film. ….read more
