Sonu Nigam is back as an actor.

After his forgettable stint as an actor, Sonu Nigam had pledged to keep away from films. Nevertheless, he has been reading scripts that made their way to his office. The upshot is that he has signed a film, Aankhon Aankhon Mein, which tells the story of a blind singer. The singer however insists that he is not attempting to re-establish his career as an actor and wants to do the film purely for its taut script.
Sonu says, "My friend Akashdeep has been planning to do this film for the longest time. When he had offered it to me earlier, I wasn't quite interested. I had turned it down. But when I read the script, I found it extremely interesting. We are yet to figure out the dates as I'm presently touring the US and I will be back this month end." In his first stint as an actor Sonu acted in Jaani Dushman: Ek Anokhi Kahani, Kaash… Aap Hamare Hote and Love in Nepal.
The singer is also composing the music of the film. He says that his main interest continues to be music. Sonu says, "I'm completely aware of my strengths but I'm open to experiments at the same time." Sonu clinched the film for his careless gait and dreamy look. Akashdeep says, "We are very good friends. One fine day he [Sonu] walked in my house and I knew that only he could portray the singer in my film." ….read more
