Sanjay Dutt’s fate to be decided on July 31

The designated TADA court today said it will decide the fate of Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt and his three friends on July 31, the last verdict to be delivered in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case.
Accompanied by his lawyer Satishmane Shinde, the cine star appeared before TADA judge P D Kode along with his three friends Yusuf Nalwalla, Karsi Adjania and Russi Mulla at 1055 hrs sharp and was asked to appear on July 31 when court will hand out the quantumn of punishment on him and his friends under the Arms Act. Unlike his previous appearances in the court, the film actor was today looking calm and relaxed.
It may be recalled that Dutt had earlier been convicted, along with his three friends under the Arms Act, which entails a maximum punishment of 10 years. However, soon after his conviction, the film star had moved an application before the court, seeking relief under the Probation of Offenders Act. The State Government has already submitted its report in this regard, and now the Court's response is awaited. ….read more
