Salman Khan gets bail in poaching case

The Rajasthan High Court today granted bail to Bollywood superstar Salman Khan , who was convicted in the chinkara poaching case. Salman's case was heard by Justice H R Panwar after Justice G K Vyas refused to hear Salman's bail plea on Wednesday.
After calling for the case records on Thursday, Justice Panwar had deferred the hearing till Friday. Dipesh Mehta, a Mumbai-based lawyer and a Supreme Court advocate Uday Lalit appeared for Salman.
Salman, who was arrested on Saturday, was lodged in Central Jail in Jodhpur after losing his appeal in the district and session court of Jodhpur against his sentence in the chinkara poaching case handed out by the Chief Judicial Magistrate on April 10.
The High Court's decision has saved Salman from spending the weekend behind bars. ….read more
