Filmfare Awards Announced

The much awaited Filmfare awards for 2007 have been announced. The awards were given away in a star studded grand gala function at Yashraj Studio, Mumbai on February 24th.
As per expectations, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, A.R. Rahman, and Kareena Kapoor, and Deepika Padukone were the winners in the main categories with films like 'Chak De India', 'Taare Zameen Par', and 'Jab We Met' getting maximum awards.
Child actor Darsheel Safary, of Taare Zameen Par fame was nominated for the Best Actor Category, with the likes of Shahrukh Khan. The child star won the Critics Award for Best Actor.

Best Film - Taare Zameen Par
Best Director - Aamir Khan - Taare Zameen Par
Critics' Award For Best Actor - Darsheel Safary - Taare Zameen Par
Critics' Award For Best Actress - Tabu - Cheeni Kum
Critics' Award For Best Film - Shimit Amin - Chak De India
Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Male) - Irrfan Khan - Life in a… Metro
Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Female) - Konkana Sen Sharma - Life in a Metro
Best Lyrics - Prasoon Joshi - (Maa - Taare Zameen Par)
Best Playback Singer (Male) - Shaan - (Jab Se Tere Naina - Saawariya)
Best Playback Singer (Female) - Shreya Ghosal - (Barso Re - Guru)
Best Music - A. R. Rahman - Guru
Rishi Kapoor won the Lifetime Achievement Award.
The best debut awards were taken by Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone
