Farhan Akhtar makes his acting debut

Much has been written about Farhan Akhtar's ambitious projects Don 2, Kismet Talkies, etc. However, the first film from their stable, which hits the floors early next year, is about a band of boys. Apparently, the script (written by Abhishek Kapoor) made its way to Farhan's office a few months back. A thrilled Farhan not only agreed to produce it but also volunteered to play the leading role. "Yes I'm making a film about a rock band early next year. I play one of the bandmates in the film. But it's too early to talk about it."

The film traces the journey of a popular boy band that churns out lyrics, music, and style statements for teenyboppers. Apart from Farhan, the cast includes Arjun Rampal, Purab Kohli and veejay Luke Kenny. A source informs, "These guys are playing bandmates in the film. They have already started training in music."

Farhan Akhtar is an ace guitarist in real-life too. Akhtar is extremely attached to his guitar and takes it along to all outdoor shoots. He follows a ritual of wrapping a hard day at work by strumming the guitar and humming songs. He says, "As a child, I took formal lessons in playing the harmonium for a few years. Then, about eight years ago, I decided to pick up a guitar and just teach myself." ….read more
