Drona de-railed!

The recent attack on Samjhauta Express has taken a toll on Abhishek Bachchan's superhero flick Drona. The story goes that the actor along with sweetheart (only in the film) Priyanka Chopra was left high and dry when railway officials refused to give out clearances for them to shoot a crucial action sequence atop a moving train. After having waited for a delayed clearance, the producers were forced to wrap up the schedule. Talking about the stringent security measures, producer Shrishti Arya says, "We had obtained the clearances much before. But the Samjhauta Express tragedy has led the railway officials to put all shooting requests in trains on hold. Unable to shoot this action sequence, the actors left a few days back to meet their other commitments."
We hear that the action sequence, which is a part of the climax, requires Abhishek (who essays the role of a long-haired superhero) to perform jaw-dropping stunts. A source informs, "We were all looking forward to filming the climax sequence. In fact, more than anybody else it will have Abhishek pulling off stunts like never before."
The unavailability of a train for filming has obviously thrown the schedule out of gear. However, producer Shrishti and director Goldie Behl continue to be optimistic. "We are looking at an end-of-the-year release. In any case we have to spend a long time on the editing table incorporating the special effects. We are yet to figure out another schedule for the action sequence to be shot on a railway track amidst sand dunes. The best part about this place is that the weather conditions are not too inclement. So we can easily come back after a while. Hopefully, things will work out soon," says Shrishti. ….read more
