Aishawarya Rai will play Mumtaz Mahal in Ben Kingsley’s Taj Mahal

Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai has bagged another Hollywood project ! She will portray the role of Mumtaz Mahal in Ben Kingley’s Taj Mahal.
The movie is likely to go on the floors next year and will be shot in Agra, the place where the monument stands. Ben Kingsley will play play the lead role of Shah Jahan. He had spoken about the project to Ash, while they were filming ‘The Last Legion’. “She very generously agreed to do the movie with me. My production house is working with a screenwriter on the project. I have very clear ideas about how I want to approach the subject.” Kingsley is quoted as saying.
Ben Kingsley is well known for his powerful role of Gandhi, in Richard Attenborough’s film by the same name. He also won the best actor Oscar for the role.
The Taj Mahal has been recently voted as one of the new seven wonders of the world. It is a monument of love built by Moghul Emperor Shah Jahan and dedicated to Mumtaz Mahal.
